Baseball Recap: Bishop Ready Wins Going Away Against Franklin Heights

Bishop Ready's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Franklin Heights Falcons 8-1. The Silver Knights haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Brendan Long was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Bishop Ready's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-10 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Liam Hanson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alberto Tejada, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Bishop Ready lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Bishop Ready's record now sits at 5-11. As for Franklin Heights, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.
