Basketball Game Preview: Poplar Springs Atomics vs. Wewahitchka Gators

The Poplar Springs Atomics will take on the Wewahitchka Gators at 2:15 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Poplar Springs is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 59 points on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Bethlehem on Thursday. They were outmatched by the Wildcats and fell 60-15. The Atomics have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Wewahitchka came up short against Covenant Christian on Tuesday and fell 40-28. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Wewahitchka saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Niah Carter posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Annabella Whitfeild, who earned six points.

Poplar Springs' loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Wewahitchka, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
