Baseball Recap: Teton Timberwolves vs. South Fremont Cougars

Teton hadn't done well against South Fremont recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Timberwolves came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 8-5. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 3-2 win last Tuesday.

Luke Nelson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Teton is 5-1 when Nelson posts ten or more strikeouts, but 7-8 otherwise. Nelson was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one double.

In other batting news, Junior Borg was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was James Borg, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Teton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
