Basketball Game Preview: Dunlap Eagles vs. Metamora Redbirds

The Dunlap Eagles will take on the Metamora Redbirds at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Dunlap was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 50-46 to Morton. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Potters: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Metamora was able to grind out a solid victory over East Peoria on Friday, taking the game 61-48. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Redbirds.

Metamora is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Dunlap, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.

Everything went Dunlap's way against Metamora when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as Dunlap made off with a 57-36 win. Will Dunlap repeat their success, or does Metamora have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
