Volleyball Recap: Upsala Triumphs

It was a proper cat-fight when Upsala challenged Browerville on Tuesday. The Cardinals walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Upsala had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-21, 25-11, 25-18.

Zoey Leners paced Upsala's offense, picking up 23 kills. Leners got some help from Sierra Bense and her 31 assists. Finally, Leners was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 7-14. As for Browerville, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-15.

Coming up, Upsala will square off against Benson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Browerville, they will face off against Long Prairie-Grey Eagle at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
