Baseball Recap: Hanover-Horton Has No Trouble Against Napoleon

While Hanover-Horton put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Napoleon. The Comets put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 17-0 win. Considering the Comets have won nine contests by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Luke Soper made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Lukas NaDell was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Jack Wooster was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Hanover-Horton has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Napoleon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-14.

Hanover-Horton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Napoleon, they will take on Sand Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
