Volleyball Recap: Eldon Falls in a Tight One to Versailles

Eldon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two sets away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Versailles Tigers. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 25-15 in the first set.

While Eldon ultimately came up short, they really made Versailles work, particularly in the fourth set. The final set scores came out to 15-25, 25-14, 21-25, 28-26, 15-6.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaydin Davis, who had 30 assists, 17 digs, and two aces. Briley Dial was another key player, getting 18 kills, five digs, and four aces.

Eldon has now lost nine of their last 11 games on the road. That's part of the reason why they have a 4-24-7 record this season. As for Versailles, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13-4.
