Basketball Recap: Southwest Louisiana Homeschool's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

After flying high against Hattiesburg HomeSchool last Friday, Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool came back down to earth. Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool fell to the Bishop Noland Episcopal Day Eagles 44-39. The loss continues a trend for Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool in their matchups with Bishop Noland Episcopal Day: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite the defeat, Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool saw an underclassman step up: freshman Ethan Brown posted ten points and seven steals. The dominant performance gave Brown a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Tristan Thomas, who scored seven points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Noland Episcopal Day only pulled down four offensive rebounds.

Bishop Noland Episcopal Day's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson LeBlanc, who put up 14 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Roy Washington, who earned 13 points along with five assists and three steals.

Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-5. As for Bishop Noland Episcopal Day, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool has already played their next match (against Word of God Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Bishop Noland Episcopal Day wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 41-36 victory against Shreveport HomeSchool Sports on the 25th.
