Basketball Recap: Russell Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Russell posted their closest victory since January 28th on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-41 win over the East Carter Raiders. This was payback for the Red Devils, who suffered a 57-42 loss the last time these two teams met.

Russell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaiden Benge led the charge by putting up 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Cordial, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds.

Russell's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-12. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points over those games. As for East Carter, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-16.

Looking ahead, Russell is taking a road trip to face off against Lewis County at 7:45 p.m. on February 25th. East Carter has already played their next game (against Fairview), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
