Baseball Recap: Hershey Find Success

Hershey won the last time they faced Bishop McDevitt and things went their way on Thursday too. The Trojans had just enough and edged out the Crusaders 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Danny Nelson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up 13 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hershey saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bennett Sheppard, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Hershey's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop McDevitt, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
