New Prairie won the last time they faced South Bend Washington and things went their way on Thursday too. The Cougars put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 19-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won 11 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

New Prairie got several good pitching performances, but Cameron Greene was perhaps the best, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Greene a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Bryce Bell was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. He continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Trent Mamazza was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI and one double.

New Prairie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.

New Prairie's record now sits at 15-9. As for South Bend Washington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

New Prairie didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Mishawaka on the 23rd. As for South Bend Washington, they have also already played their next contest, a 16-3 victory against 21st Century Charter on the 24th.
