Volleyball Recap: Nemaha Central's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Nemaha Central had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top against the Hiawatha Red Hawks by a score of 2-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 on Saturday.

While Nemaha Central won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-15.

Macy Holthaus paced Nemaha Central's offense, picking up five kills. Holthaus got some help from Kennedy Carlson and her six assists. Carlson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Nemaha Central's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Hiawatha, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Nemaha Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Rock Creek on the 13th. As for Hiawatha, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Jefferson West at 5:00 p.m.
