Football Recap: Robinson Piles Up the Points Against Jefferson

With a playoff win on the line, Robinson rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 61-0 victory over the Jefferson Dragons. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won eight matches by 21 points or more so far this season.

Haidyn Spano continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 217 yards and six TDs while completing 80% of her passes. She has become a key player for Robinson: the team is undefeated when she posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise. Ava Godfrey did her part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 86 receiving yards.

Robinson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Godfrey led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. She got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Robinson's record now sits at 13-3. As for Jefferson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Robinson will challenge Hillsborough at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Knights 7.7, the Terriers 12.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Jefferson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
