Preview: Marlin vs. Hearne
Marlin is 6-0 against Hearne since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Marlin Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Hearne Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Marlin is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Marlin had to settle for a 3-2 loss against Mexia. Marlin has struggled against Mexia recently, as their match on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Christopher Sanchez and
Eric Ramos-Diaz did their best for Marlin and scored both of Marlin's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 12 so far this season.
Meanwhile, Hearne has been struggling as of late, and they have yet to win a game this season. They were the victim of a tough 4-0 loss at the hands of Lorena on Wednesday.
Marlin has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8-1 record this season. As for Hearne, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7-1.
Marlin beat Hearne by a goal in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, winning 2-1. Will Marlin repeat their success, or does Hearne have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
