Homewood-Flossmoor never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Thornton Fractional South Red Wolves. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Izzy Thurman made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Thurman was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Homewood-Flossmoor let Elodie Sullivan and Demi Chaney run wild. Sullivan went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Chaney went 1-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs Sullivan has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Skylar Skinner, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Homewood-Flossmoor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .654. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thornton Fractional South only posted an OBP of .077.

Homewood-Flossmoor now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Thornton Fractional South, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Homewood-Flossmoor will face off against Plainfield Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Homewood-Flossmoor's pitchers better be ready for this one: Plainfield Central has averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Thornton Fractional South, they will square off against Bloom at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Thornton Fractional South is facing Bloom at the right time seeing as Bloom is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
