Jesuit, Carmel have huge margins of victory in the state-by-state final rankings in the MaxPreps Cup.
Video: 2018-19 MaxPreps Cup Champion Portland's Jesuit Crusaders bring home the title for the second time in four years.
Jesuit (Portland, Ore.) finished the 2018-19 school year as the MaxPreps Cup champion and it also holds the widest margin over the No. 2 team in our look at the Top 10 MaxPreps Cup point winners from each state.
Jesuit has a nearly 1,550-point lead over Catlin Gabel, the No. 2 school in Oregon. Carmel (Ind.), the No. 2 school in the MaxPreps Cup final rankings, also has a large margin of victory, beating North Central by nearly 1,200 points.
The MaxPreps Cup is a system used by MaxPreps to
determine the No. 1 high school sports program in the nation. Schools
accumulate points for finishing first or second in the state
finals/championship or finishing in the Top 25 national rankings for a
particular sport. Points are also awarded based on the size of the
state, the popularity of the sport, the playoff classification for the
sport played and for the number of teams competing in that playoff
classification.
