Softball Game Preview: Carlisle Indians vs. Goshen Warriors

The Carlisle Indians will face off against the Goshen Warriors at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Carlisle will be strutting in after a victory while Goshen will be coming in after a loss.

While Carlisle's win against Valley View wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Indians had just enough and edged out the Spartans 11-10 on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Goshen entered their matchup against Clinton-Massie on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Warriors fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Warriors have suffered against the Falcons since April 28, 2022.

Makayla Campbell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Josie Purdy made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Macee Stelle was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Carlisle's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Goshen, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
