Football Recap: Corona del Sol Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Corona del Sol was the 21-13 winner over Perry when they last played one another back in September of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Aztecs were beaten by the Pumas 44-13 on Friday. The Aztecs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-6.

Corona del Sol's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Farrell, who threw for 204 yards and one TD, and also rushed for 30 yards. 96 of Farrell's passing yards were hauled in by Marques Fuentes, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Perry's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kael Snyder led the charge by throwing for 291 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75.9% of his passes. Amos Augustine also helped out as he racked up 117 receiving yards.

Corona del Sol now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Perry, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Coming up, Corona del Sol will head out to square off against Queen Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Aztecs their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Perry, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Chandler at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th.
