Goshen Central put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Port Jervis Raiders. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Gladiators also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.

The team relied heavily on Stephen Kovacs, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. F Mitterbauer was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Goshen Central's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.0 runs this season. As for Port Jervis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Goshen Central will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Washingtonville at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Port Jervis, they will take on Nanuet in a tournament on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Raiders 3.4, the Golden Knights 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
