Baseball Recap: Doherty Comes Up Short

The Doherty Spartans lost 12-3 to Nelson on Monday. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Doherty saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Giovanni Rishavy, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Rishavy has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Doherty's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Nelson, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Doherty will take on St. Helens at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Nelson, they will take on Idaho Falls in a tournament on Tuesday.
