Basketball Recap: Hi-Plains Comes Up Short

Hi-Plains and Fleming squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Hi-Plains had to settle for second. They fell 35-24 to the Fleming Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 35-29 two weeks ago.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fleming to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashley Bornhoft, who posted seven points along with 12 rebounds and four steals. That's the most boards Bornhoft has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Ciana Lousberg, who scored six points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Hi-Plains and nudges their season record down to 17-10. As for Fleming, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

Hi-Plains does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fleming, they have already played their next game, a 61-45 loss against Evangel Christian Academy on the 15th.
