Football Game Preview: Westminster Wildcats vs. Cambridge Bears

Westminster is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Friday. They will welcome the Cambridge Bears at 7:30 p.m. Westminster is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Westminster is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since October 18, 2024 last Friday. They had to suffer through a 56-7 loss at the hands of Benedictine. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Wildcats' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Meanwhile, Cambridge made easy work of East Coweta on Friday and carried off a 45-21 win. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won four contests by 24 points or more so far this season.

Westminster better keep an eye on Connor Langford. He was instrumental in Cambridge's win, throwing for 354 yards and five TDs while completing 74.1% of his passes. Thanks to that big game, Langford is now up to 19 passing touchdowns on the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Craig Dandridge, who picked up 79 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Cambridge didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited East Coweta to a completion percentage of just 40.9%. The Bears weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 69.7%.

The victory made it two in a row for Cambridge and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.5 points over those games. As for Westminster, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
