Baseball Recap: PikeView Takes a Loss

PikeView was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Sissonville Indians, falling 9-1. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Drew Damewood and Eli Hilling stepped up to the plate in a big way. Damewood got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run, while Hilling went 1-for-2 with one triple and one stolen base. Those stolen bases were Damewood's first of the season.

PikeView's record now sits at 10-4. As for Sissonville, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.

Looking ahead, PikeView will host Shady Spring at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sissonville, they will head out to face off against Princeton at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Indians are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
