Basketball Preview: Doane Academy vs. Medford Tech Jaguars        
        
		
            
 Doane Academy are on the road again  on Tuesday and plays the Medford Tech Jaguars at 4:00  p.m.  on February 6th. Doane Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 331st, while the Jaguars are ranked 76th).
 Last Sunday, Doane Academy came up short against the Renegades  and fell  58-48.
  Nick Fusco put forth a good effort for the losing side as  he  scored 22 points. He has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last three times he's  played.  Shane Bobroski was another key contributor,  scoring four points.
 Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Medford Tech over the  in every quarter on their way to victory  on Thursday. Medford Tech strolled past the  with  points to spare, taking the game  62-47.
  Tre Powell continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines,  scoring 30 points along with five  rebounds and two  steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's  now  scored 28 or more in the last four games he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Nesta Rice, who  scored 16 points along with six  assists.
 Doane Academy has  not been sharp recently as the team's  lost 11 of their last 14 games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Medford Tech, they pushed their record up to 16-4 with that  victory, which was their fourth straight  on the road.
This contest  is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor:  Doane Academy  have been smashing the glass this season,  having  averaged 24.4  rebounds per game. However, it's not like Medford Tech struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 26.4  rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
 Doane Academy came up short against the Jaguars when the teams last played  back in December of 2023, falling  71-65. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of  Medford Tech's  Robbie Conyer, who  dropped  a double-double on 25 points and ten  rebounds.
