Softball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Maddie Anderson and Addison Coulter Lead Kaneland to Victory

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Kaneland nor Rochelle made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Knights' pitchers stepped up to hand the Hubs a 5-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Hubs: they've now won six in a row.

Addison Coulter and Maddie Anderson did most of the damage at the plate: Coulter went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Anderson went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave Anderson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelina Campise, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Kaneland's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Rochelle, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 15 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

Kaneland will square off against Oswego East at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Rochelle, they will take on Morris at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hubs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Redskins have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
