Basketball Recap: Santana Takes a Loss

Santana has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 67-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Imperial Tigers on Saturday.

Despite the loss, Santana still got an impressive performance from Caine Lawless, who went 9 of 18 en route to 23 points. Lawless continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Daxton Burroughs, who posted eight points.

Santana's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Imperial, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Santana has already played their next contest, a 51-48 win against Calipatria on the 26th. As for Imperial, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-53 defeat against Downey on the 26th.
