Basketball Preview: Bluff Dale Bobcats vs. Gorman Panthers
Bluff Dale is 0-10 against the Panthers since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bluff Dale Bobcats will head out on the road to challenge the Gorman Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Bluff Dale has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Friday, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Bluff Dale made off with a 31-30 victory over the. The win was just what Bluff Dale needed coming off of a 53-20 loss in their prior match.
Bluff Dale relied on the efforts of Kallie Dotson, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and four steals, and Allie Morris, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Bekah Gannon was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Gorman stacked a 19th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Strawn, posting a 72-25 win on the road. Given Gorman's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while the Greyhounds are ranked 1167th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bluff Dale's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-15. As for Gorman, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 28-5 record this season.
Bluff Dale was taken down by the Panthers 77-7 when the teams last played back in January. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Bluff Dale was down 47-5.
