Football Game Preview: Bethany Bronchos vs. Tecumseh Savages + Official Tickets

Bethany is a perfect 7-0 against Tecumseh since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bronchos will face off against the Savages at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Bethany and four for Tecumseh.

On Thursday, Bethany lost to Ardmore at home by a 55-36 margin. The Bronchos were down 42-21 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite their defeat, Bethany saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Brody McLaren, who threw for 215 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 119 yards on only 15 carries, was perhaps the best of all. McLaren's passing game has become a key predictor of the Bronchos' success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-4 otherwise. Baren Tehee was in the mix as well, providing Bethany with two scores.

Meanwhile, Tecumseh played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Chickasha, falling 62-25.

Like Bethany, Tecumseh lost despite seeing results from several players. Wyatt Dodgion led the charge by throwing for 267 yards and four TDs. Braxton Shelton was Dodgion's top target, picking up 81 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Tecumseh's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Bethany, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-5.

Everything came up roses for Bethany against Tecumseh in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 48-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bronchos since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
