            Basketball Recap: Hoover Huskies vs. Wayne Pioneers        
        
		
        
        
            Hoover lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Wayne, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's   game. The Hoover Huskies were the clear victor by  a  76-54 margin over the Wayne Pioneers on Monday. The score was close at the half, but the Huskies pulled away in the second half with 43  points.

 Hoover had a senior duo take command as  Dane Hatfield  posted 25 points and  Donovan Brown  scored 24  points. As a matter of fact, that's the most  points  Brown has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Sam Kee, who  put up nine points.
 Wayne's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Ronnie Staley, who  went 7-for-11  on his way to 15  points. What's more,  Staley also posted a 64%  shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's  achieved since back in December of 2024.  Isaac Meddings was another key player,  putting up 13 points and six  assists.
Hoover's record is now 14-4. As for Wayne,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 14-6.
 Hoover has already played their next matchup,  an  81-40  win against Roane County on the 25th. As for Wayne, they will face off against Lincoln County at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
