Basketball Preview: School Without Walls Penguins vs. Ron Brown Monarchs
The School Without Walls Penguins will be playing at home against the Ron Brown Monarchs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Ron Brown took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on School Without Walls, who comes in off a win.
Last Monday, School Without Walls was able to grind out a solid victory over the Griffins, taking the game 57-47.
School Without Walls can attribute much of their success to Paul Joire, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Isaac Wallsten, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wallsten has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chidiire Nwokwu, who scored six points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Ron Brown faced the Knights in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Ron Brown suffered a tough 51-29 defeat at the hands of the Knights on Friday. Ron Brown's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
School Without Walls now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Ron Brown, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
School Without Walls came out on top in a nail-biter against the Monarchs when the teams last played back in January of 2023, sneaking past 51-49. Will School Without Walls repeat their success, or do the Monarchs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
