The biggest upset of the week belonged to Manitou Springs, who took down 52nd ranked La Junta, 42-21. Johnny Swanson threw for 145 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 52 yards in the win.

Swanson and Dustin Bohnert provided fans with a highlight when they connected against the Tigers. The connection was good for 59 yards, the longest such play in 2A Tri-Peaks this season.

The Mustangs' dynamic duo of Swanson and Bohnert proved tough for La Junta to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Danny McGee helped Manitou Springs' passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 35 yards.

Ben Breier was the best running back in the league this week. In 21 carries, he ran for 123 yards as the Pirates topped La Junta. Teammate Hayden Smith added to the ground attack by rushing for 32 yards.

Taylor Nelson made the biggest impact on defense this week as St. Mary's fell to the Huskies. He.

Swanson put up the best numbers in passing as Manitou Springs beat the Tigers.

Alamosa's Marco Garcia and Bailey Garcia have formed a dream team this season, leading 2A Tri-Peaks in both passing and receiving yards. Garcia has thrown for 461 yards this season, while Garcia has 14 catches for 355 yards. Hoxie from Florence leads the league in rushing with 427 yards.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Lamar takes on Dolores Huerta Prep. The Savages are in second place, while the Scorpions are in sixth place.

The Mustangs moved up to 43 from 89 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Manitou Springs was able to make move up by besting La Junta 42-21.
