Football Recap: Hayden Fincher's Big Game Can't Quite Lead St. Paul's Episcopal over Blount + How To Watch

St. Paul's Episcopal extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 5-4. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 34-28 heartbreaker at the hands of the Blount Leopards. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Leopards apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

St. Paul's Episcopal's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hayden Fincher, who threw for 134 yards and three touchdowns. Ty Sellers handled things on the ground, rushing for 131 yards.

As for Blount, they moved to 2-7 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Blount's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Keevaughn Johnson, who rushed for 85 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 85 rushing yards gave Johnson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Darius Brown, who picked up 59 receiving yards and two scores.

St. Paul's Episcopal wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 28-24 victory against Spanish Fort on the 31st. As for Blount, they have also already played their next contest, a 22-0 loss against Theodore on the 31st.
