Volleyball Recap: Lansing Christian Pilgrims vs. Ovid-Elsie Marauders
Lansing Christian's tournament run continued when they took on Ovid-Elsie on Saturday. The Pilgrims fell just short of the Marauders by a score of 2-1. The Pilgrims have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Their offense was headlined by Alyssa Shank and Esther Lee, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Ainsley Pelle and her 11 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Lansing Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Ovid-Elsie, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Lansing Christian and Ovid-Elsie will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Pilgrims see the court they'll take on Perry at 7:00 p.m. on September 3. As for Ovid-Elsie, their break will end when they face Mt. Morris at 6:45 p.m. on September 4.
