Volleyball Recap: Hackett Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Hackett had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Guy-Perkins Thunderbirds. The Hornets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Thunderbirds, too.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Hackett was: they took every set by at least 16 points. The final score came out to 25-5, 25-9, 25-7.

Michaelyn Freeman paced Hackett's offense, picking up 11 kills. Freeman got some help from Catelyn Edwards and her 19 assists. Edwards was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Hackett's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Guy-Perkins, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hackett is set to square off against their familiar foe Mulberry at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Guy-Perkins will challenge rival Two Rivers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
