Basketball Recap: Southside's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Southside came into Friday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Emerald Vikings by a score of 38-29 on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 55-30 back in January.

Despite the loss, Emerald still got an impressive performance from Le'Asia Morgan, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 21 boards. Jurnee Williams was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

The win got Southside back to even at 8-8. As for Emerald, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southside will welcome Wren at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering Southside has lost three straight at home and Wren three straight on the road , this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum. Emerald has already played their next matchup (against Fountain Inn), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
