Football Game Preview: Somerset Briar Jumpers vs. Monroe County Falcons

After each having a week off, the Somerset Briar Jumpers and the Monroe County Falcons will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Somerset's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last six contests.

Somerset is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 49-6 win over Clinton County. Considering the Briar Jumpers have won five matchups by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Monroe County entered their game against Campbellsville two weeks ago without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Falcons took a 48-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

Somerset pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.3 points on average over those games. As for Monroe County, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
