The Dayspring Christian Academy Eagles will face off against the Estes Park Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dayspring Christian Academy is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
Dayspring Christian Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Monte Vista on Friday as they made off with a 17-8 victory. Considering the Eagles have won ten contests by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Gage Davis and Logan Vaniddekinge made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Davis didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Vaniddekinge tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. Davis has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. At the plate, Davis went 3-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and one double, while Vaniddekinge went 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double. Those three hits gave Davis a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kai Polk and Gavin Bohl did most of the damage at the plate: Polk went 1-for-4 with four runs and one RBI, while Bohl went 2-for-3 with three runs. Those four runs gave Polk a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Coleman, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Dayspring Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Estes Park didn't have quite enough to beat Bishop Machebeuf on Saturday and fell 4-2.
Dayspring Christian Academy pushed their record up to 16-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Estes Park, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Dayspring Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Estes Park struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Dayspring Christian Academy beat Estes Park 6-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bobcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
