Matthew Gonzalez was a major factor in Grant's win over Sun Valley Magnet on Friday. Gonzalez struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). The effort marked the fewest earned runs he has had since back in February of 2024. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Gonzalez and Grant will take on Northridge Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
