Volleyball Recap: Shawnee Mission West Comes Up Short

Shawnee Mission West lost against Shawnee Mission Northwest back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Vikings lost 3-0 to the Cougars.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Shawnee Mission Northwest scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-18, 25-17.

Shawnee Mission West dropped their record down to 2-4-1 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Shawnee Mission Northwest, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.

Looking ahead, Shawnee Mission West will welcome Sumner Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Shawnee Mission Northwest has already played their next match (against Blue Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
