Baseball Game Preview: Steel Valley Ironmen vs. Bishop Canevin Crusaders

The Steel Valley Ironmen will face off against the Bishop Canevin Crusaders at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Steel Valley is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Steel Valley lost 16-2 to Eden Christian Academy on Monday.

Meanwhile, Bishop Canevin came up short against Taylor Allderdice on Monday and fell 8-3.

Bishop Canevin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Maddix, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two doubles and one run. Another was Aaryn Edwards, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Bishop Canevin's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Steel Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Steel Valley has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bishop Canevin struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Steel Valley skirted past Bishop Canevin 8-6 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Do the Ironmen have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Crusaders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
