Basketball Recap: Williamsburg Comes Up Short

Williamsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Whitley County Colonels and fell 66-26. While losing is never fun, the Yellow Jackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Colonels are ranked 57th).

Williamsburg's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Whitley County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williamsburg will square off against Lee County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Whitley County, they will head out on the road to challenge Rockcastle County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Rockcastle County has won six straight at home, while Whitley County won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
