South Johnston had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the East Wake Warriors get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Trojans as they're now sitting on 20 straight.

Ava Strickland made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Strickland was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one double.

In other batting news, Kaylee Cox was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Olivia Crumpler, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

South Johnston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive contests.

South Johnston's win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for East Wake, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.

Coming up, South Johnston will take on West Carteret on Friday. The Patriots' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. East Wake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
