Softball Recap: Hanover Comes Up Short

Hanover came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 19-2 to the Bermudian Springs Eagles. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Nighthawks couldn't push the score so high this time.

Hanover saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Rutledge, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Rutledge is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Hanover has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Bermudian Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hanover is set to square off against their familiar foe Delone Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Bermudian Springs will challenge rival Biglerville at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
