Volleyball Game Preview: Girard Indians vs. Austintown-Fitch Falcons

The Girard Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Austintown-Fitch Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

On Tuesday, Girard got the win against McKinley by a conclusive 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Girard was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-15, 25-13.

Girard relied on the efforts of Fiona Allen, who had 11 aces, and Ava Serrano, who had 11 aces. Those 11 aces gave Allen a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Girard was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 31 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Austintown-Fitch made easy work of Howland on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

Austintown-Fitch never let Howland on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-18, 26-24.

Girard's record now sits at 5-7. As for Austintown-Fitch, their record is now 6-7.
