Volleyball Recap: Skyline's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Skyline waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They blew past the Glacier Peak Grizzlies 3-0. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Grizzlies walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.

One reason for the win was Skyline's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-19, 25-16.

Emma Gutke paced Skyline's offense, picking up 19 kills. Gutke got some help from Piper Hawryluk and her 29 assists. Sanika Vipin controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Glacier Peak's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Marcy Mossburg, who had 14 digs and two assists, and Ashley Jang, who had seven digs and three aces.

Skyline's record is now 17-8-3. As for Glacier Peak, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 21-11-2 record this season.

Skyline has already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Issaquah on the 13th. As for Glacier Peak, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Lincoln on the 11th.
