Softball Recap: Northgate Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Northgate had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 5-2 to Sewickley Academy on Thursday. The Flames were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sewickley Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Northgate saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bayleigh Hooper, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northgate will square off against Fort Cherry at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Sewickley Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Serra Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on March 26th.
