Volleyball Recap: Paxton Tigers vs. Maxwell Wildcats

It was a proper cat-fight when Paxton duked it out withMaxwell on Thursday. The Paxton Tigers fell 2-0 to the Maxwell Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture last Thursday.

While Paxton ultimately came up short, they really made Maxwell work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 26-24.

Emmalee Nicholson paced Paxton's offense, picking up seven kills. Nicholson got some help from Madison Hansen and her 14 assists. Reece Glinn controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Paxton has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-16 record this season. As for Maxwell, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season.

Paxton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Medicine Valley on the 28th. Maxwell has also already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Wauneta-Palisade on the 21st.
