Softball Recap: Philo Electrics vs. Indian Creek Redskins

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contest, Philo brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They put the hurt on the Indian Creek Redskins with a sharp 11-1 victory on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Electrics as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Philo got a great performance from Cassidy Himes as she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, Himes posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Philo let Bri Wolfe and Karlee Southall run wild. Wolfe went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Southall got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That home run was Wolfe's first of the season. Parker Hina was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

Philo's victory bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Indian Creek, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

Philo will venture away from home to challenge Crooksville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Electrics are facing the Ceramics at the right time seeing as the Ceramics are stuck on a three-game losing streak. Indian Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
