Basketball Recap: Eau Claire Comes Up Short

Eau Claire lost against Lawrence back in February of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Eau Claire Beavers had to suffer through a 60-16 loss at the hands of the Lawrence Tigers. The Beavers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Hailey Camp continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lawrence, dropping a double-double with 21 points and 17 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Camp a new career-high in field goal percentage (69%). Kaylin Leyva was another key player, putting up seven points along with six steals and five assists.

Eau Claire's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Lawrence, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Coming up, Eau Claire will challenge Covert at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Eau Claire is facing Covert at the right time seeing as Covert is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Lawrence, they have already played their next match, a 48-23 loss against Centreville on the 11th.
