Baseball Recap: Irving Takes a Loss

Irving fell victim to Pearce and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost nine in a row.

Irving got a good showing from Casen Blass, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Blass a new career-low in earned runs (zero).

Irving's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13-1. As for Pearce, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-10-1 record this season.

Irving will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Nimitz at 7:30 p.m. Nimitz's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Irving's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Pearce, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against MacArthur at 7:30 p.m. on April 8.
